Accounting Plus Content Marketing

On the Accounting Plus account in my time at Hoot Design Company, I took the lead on the content marketing strategy, including writing a host of helpful articles and blog posts.

Needless to say, I learned TONS about taxes, accounting, and payroll through my content work with Accounting Plus. For me, learning about new fields and specialty areas I would never be exposed to otherwise is part of why I love working with small businesses.

Straight to the Bank: the Accounting Plus Blog

As with all (good) content marketing, the goal of the Accounting Plus blog is to create relevant, useful information their customers value.

Self-publishing this information brings in customers searching for answers to common questions – questions that the tax preparers, payroll managers, and specialists at Accounting Plus are more than prepared to help them with.

How content marketing works

1. Strategize

To create the company’s content marketing strategy, I generated content ideas relevant to the areas of business Accounting Plus wanted to bolster.

2. Interview & Draft

Then, working with the experts at Accounting Plus, I drafted a rough outline before holding interviews with Accounting Plus specialists to gain all the information, anecdotes, and examples needed for a robust article.

3. Write & Edit

Next, I’d write and edit the content, translating the client’s specialty knowledge into user-friendly information.

4. Review & Publish

After review by the experts, we then hit publish to unleash the blog post into the great world wide web.

5. Distribute

Finally, I created shareable graphics suited to Pinterest and other social media networks in order to distribute their knowledge.

Providing helpful, open information builds trust with potential consumers and ultimately brings new clients to your business.
